I’ve created this page to show the projects I completed in 2012.
I enjoyed stitching biscornu so much I decided to start an Etsy shop and try selling some of my designs. As Christmas was approaching, I focused mainly on Christmas designs at first, although I’ve branched out a bit since then.
This was the first biscornu I designed myself, so it’s quite simple. I only used one thread colour, and kept the design very straightforward. I wanted the beads to add sparkle, rather like a real snowflake!
I had fun designing this Christmas pudding, especially when I thought of using beads for the holly berries!
The pretty poinsettia button was the inspiration behind this design.
I used small beads as the baubles on this little Christmas tree biscornu design.
This was something of an experiment to see if I could stitch a design using parabolic curves. It was rather a challenge, but I was very pleased with the result!
I used variegated thread to stitch this blackwork biscornu, and I am pleased with the effect.
For this design I wanted to create a mini-sampler, using different blackwork fillings.
I stitched this biscornu on dusky pink evenweave, combining a variety of stitches, and adding beads and sequins.
When my children were small, I made them some Clothkits jackets. They were printed with a lovely rainforest design, and there were also four stuffed animals which were hidden in the pockets. I wanted to continue the tradition with my granddaughter, but sadly the rainforest design is no longer available. However, this farm jacket is very similar (including the stuffed animals!), so I made this for her instead.
My very first attempt at stumpwork! This was a Christmas present for my mum.
